On Evolution, Palin Agrees with Science and the Pope

by Lisa Graas, editor --

From Robert Costa at NRO:
Palin complains of several brushes with McCain's 2008 campaign manager. In one, he took her to task for her views on evolution: "'But your dad's a science
teacher,' Schmidt objected. 'Yes.' 'Then you know science proves evolution,' added Schmidt. I said, 'But I believe that God created us and also that He can create an evolutionary process that allows species to change and adopt.' Schmidt winced and raised his eyebrows... But I felt I was on solid factual ground."
With this position on evolution, Sarah Palin is in line with science and the Catholic Church. It's a controversial topic in which no matter which answer a person gives, a large group of people will disagree loudly. As a faithful Catholic, I'm left wondering if Schmidt would have winced at Pope Benedict XVI who would, undoubtedly, have given him the same answer.

Faith and reason must walk hand in hand. Sarah Palin is right on target.........again.

Schmidt may not understand that faith and reason are in harmony.......but apparently Sarah Palin does understand that. Good for her.
