New old meme: Palinistas are crazy idiots!!!!

How do they hate Sarah?  Let me count the ways.  Let's see, I've in the past commented on people falsely characterizing her as an extremist, insulting her daughter and her son, and, of course, calling her every possible synonym for "idiot" (and, occasionally, much worse).  We can't forget the blaming her for violence having nothing to do with her, either.

And we've even heard the "Palinistas are idiots for liking her" arguments before, sometimes (at least for me) from people once considered friends.

But now the seemingly chic thing to do online--on Twitter or wherever--is for the "Palinistas are idiots" assertion to come, not from the Obama supporters, which would be expected, but from fellow conservatives.  A lot of these such tweets swapped "idiots" for "crazy", which does not appear to be much of an improvement.  Typical of this are tweets such as the following, both of which occurred during a very quick period during which it appeared that Governor Palin had cancelled a proposed speech on Saturday:

@: Palin and her faction have reminded me more and more of high school girls. This doesn't help.

When Will The Power Really Come On?

-from Patrick's World USA

Having endured the wrath of Hurricane Irene and being without power for 2 1/2 days, it gives me pause for thought. The feelings of everyone in my neighborhood as to when will the power come on reminds me of how Sarah Palin supporters must feel after having been in a "country without power" for a little over 2 1/2 years.

The emotions range from optimism at the start to frustration right before the power actually comes back on. Even though the election of 2008 was a "bad storm," we watched conservatives come together to revive their movement through Tea Party activism and Town Hall meetings in much the same way that neighbors came together after Hurricane Irene to help each other clear trees and debris off their property.

But once the neighborhood work was done, it was time to sit out on the porch and make calls on generator charged cell phones to conduct business that would normally be conducted online or in person at locations that would have had power under regular conditions. As time passes, the neighborhood gets restless. People approach power company trucks and ask "when will you be by me?" Folks are beginning to find out that some areas are coming online and others are still in the dark. You can sense the frustration.

Politically, Virginia and New Jersey came online first with the election of Republican governors to replace Democrats. Then slowly other states came online and even half the U.S. Capitol now "has power."

Emotions still range throughout neighborhoods, though. When you see the extent of the damage, one has to wonder if the power company is even capable or willing to fix it all. That is where we are at now politically.

Sarah Palin has the ability to "turn the power back on" for the United States. There will still be those who would prefer to be in the dark living off candles and generators. But for most of us, having the power back on means being able to get back to working on improving our lives instead of surviving.

Normally, when the electricity comes back on, trees have been pruned, lines have been strengthend and weaknesses in the electrical grid can be more easily addressed now that there is a all hands on deck operation under way.

This is what has to happen to our political system. It's not just enough to "get the power back." This is an opportunity to prune the waste, cut down the trees that could cause future power outages and fix worn out or blown transformers. This is where the Tea Party comes in. This is where Sarah Palin comes in.

There are times where we become angry and frustrated. Why is the power not coming back on? Where is she? Is she even running? Is the power company really going to do the job right this time or are they just going to turn it over to the same old lackeys who built this rickety power system in the first place once the "problem" is fixed?

The removal of Obama is like the removal of debris. The removal of RINOs is like the cutting down of trees that would hang over the lines for the next storm. But getting the power grid to work at optimum efficiency is going to require electing Sarah Palin president.

Gov. Palin Steps Onto National Stage

By Adrienne Ross - www.motivationtruth.com

Three years ago, on August 29, 2008, Senator John McCain introduced the nation to Governor Sarah Palin. She was number two on that ticket, but she fired up the American people who came out to hear her speak. As they learned more about her, they discovered how much they respected her accomplishments, shared her values, and embraced her patriotism. They knew she was an asset to America.

I have always voiced great appreciation for Senator McCain's military service. He is an American hero, without question. Unfortunately, however, as a presidential candidate, he ran a campaign that did not serve him well. In addition, he surrounded the Governor with some people who were threatened by her, failed to see her strengths, and undermined her--even more so after the campaign. He subjected his VP pick to people who made choices that were naive at best and ill-intentioned at worst. I must not fail to say, however, that she was assigned some very good people who were--and are--loyal to her, people like Jason Recher, who is among the best of the best.

How has she handled the undeserved blame heaped upon her by people trying to protect their own futures and hide their own weaknesses? Well, let's just say she's The Undefeated . And let's not forget that she has led on all issues that the American people have found important: health care, job creation, taxes, foreign policy, energy. She is largely responsible for the shellacking Democrats suffered in the 2010 mid-term elections. Her endorsements were game-changers. She has fearlessly taken President Obama to task for his failed policies. She has shown an unfailing belief in American exceptionalism and an unwavering commitment to a fundamental restoration of this country. She has laid it all on the line.

So while she was tapped in 2008 as #2, she may soon be announcing that she will be #1 on the 2012 GOP ticket. Some people think she will announce in Iowa on September 3rd, the anniversary of her exemplary RNC speech, and some expected her to announce today, on this anniversary of McCain's bringing her out onto the national stage. I expected neither because I can't imagine her doing anything that even slightly resembles or is linked to the old McCain campaign. Governor Palin is paving her own way, and I believe she wants that to be clearly recognizable by everyone paying attention.

Though some of the GOP machine have dismissed Governor Palin, and others want her to remain on the sidelines cheering on lesser-qualified candidates, common sense Americans, including myself, have been anticipating her run for president for three years. Whether she will or won't will soon be revealed, for in just a few weeks, the Governor has said, she will let us know her decision.

I say, Game On!

* Happy Anniversary, Todd and Governor Palin.
* In appreciation for Senator McCain's brilliant VP pick, I absolutely must wish him a Happy Birthday today.

Where Were You When...Three Years On

Three years ago today at 1226 EDT, Presidential Candidate John McCain introduced former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to the world. While some of the conservative cognoscente knew who she was and advocated for her to be McCain's running mate, Gov. Palin was unknown for most of us until that moment. Instantly, the unknown Gov. Palin became a household name and remains so today. Palin blogs and websites were few and far between that day. Likely not a single site with "4P" in its name existed then. Today, over 100 dedicated Palin sites support Gov. Palin and possibly an equal number of hate sites try to destroy her.

Three years ago today, I caught her speech a few moments after it begun as I left my employee lot to get a Gatorade lunch. I did not know her name. I did not know what she looked like. In the two blocks I drove before I had to pull over to the side of the road, Gov. Palin - SARAH - rocked my world, divided my calendar, and got a political observer active. I heard the spirit of President Reagan resurrected in a woman's body. The first great leader we had seen in a generation was emerging. That day, Gov. Palin stole my heart. She finished the job not even six weeks later, when she signed it in Bethlehem, PA, once again rocking my world and dividing my calendar.

Gov. Palin has accomplished much in these three years. To simply link to all them would fill over 100 pages. In her final seven months as Alaska's Governor, Sarah Palin accomplished more than seven of New York State's governors had in 50 years. When she selflessly stepped down to stanch the flow of frivolous ethics complaints, Gov. Palin's trajectory soared even higher.

She authored two books, hosted an eight-part documentary series on her home state, was the subject of a full-length feature movie, became a sought-after speaker commanding top honorarium, and is a Fox News contributor. She conducted humanitarian missions in cholera- and earthquake-wracked Haiti and in Alabama following devastating tornadoes. The former Alaska governor has raised over $120,000 for wounded soldiers, walked for autism, and the March of Dimes, among others. During her final seven months as Governor, Sarah Palin coordinated and led an airlift to distressed villages in remote western Alaska, sacrificing the political primping and priming, champagne and caviar of the 2009 CPAC conference. The little children to whom she personally distributed supplies were far more important than the Washington DC elites. Around that time, SarahPAC was born. Soon, SarahPAC - which did not yet exist three years ago today - may become far less important, being supplanted by a Presidential campaign.

Since becoming a private citizen, Gov. Palin has traveled to Hong Kong, Canada, India, and Israel. In Israel, Gov. Palin met and broke bread with Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu. She is arguably the only private citizen who met, dined and spent a substantial amount of time with a head of state in recent history. Though Gov. Palin has long been an energy expert, she honed her acumen in economics and foreign policy over these past three years. Her writings have been featured in the Wall Street Journal.

Gov. Palin could announce her candidacy for the 2012 Presidential election any time now. Some had speculated it would be today. I think it will be a time, place, and method of her choosing. Regardless of when she ultimately announces her decision, now is a good moment to reflect on what brought us here in the first instance:

Where were you when...Gov. Palin shattered a glass ceiling with her sonic boom?

Why Sarah Palin Can't Win

Dick Morris explained to Greta Van Susteren why Sarah Palin can't win. He said there are so many people who love Sarah Palin who think that there are too many people that don't. Congratulations liberal media and Republican establishment, you won. You have brainwashed enough people on our side that we are willing to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory over a disastrous president. My condolences to the conservative movement because three years after a brutal beating, you still have not learned.

Having spent all of my adult years following politics, I have never been as disappointed in my party and the people who are supposedly on my side of the issues as I am now. Negativity is the work of the devil and it shows not just on the liberal side (where negativity is norm and the politics of personal destruction trump debating the issues), but on our side as well.

Sarah Palin's electability isn't really the issue. Courage is the issue. Too many on our side are severely lacking in that category.

Palin hasn't even announced. Nor has she started campaigning yet. Speculating on someone's electability based on polls over a year out is ridiculously stupid. If she campaigns poorly or doesn't garner the votes necessary to win the nomination, that's one thing. To kill the egg before it hatches is another.

We can look at scenarios where Republicans didn't stick together and learn some lessons. Harry Reid is still the Senate majority leader because people on our side were too nervous about Sharron Angle. Mike Coons is the Senator from Delaware because people on our side threw Christine O'Donnell under the bus. Lisa Murkowski won the Senate in Alaska ON A WRITE IN BALLOT because people on our side bought into the media and opposition spin about him.

We can look at scenarios where Democrats stuck together and learn some lessons, too. They elected a nationally untested Jimmy Carter because they believed in some crazy dream, similar to the hopey changey thing they bought into three years ago. They elected a scandal plagued philanderer from Arkansas president without even the slightest concern about how electable a womanizer with questionable business and political dealings could be. They elected a wet behind the ears novice from Chicago because they didn't care about his associations or lack of experience.

You didn't see Democrats hawking their candidates' flaws, did you?

They stuck together. And because they stick together, they're capable of nominating and electing some of the most ridiculous candidates we've ever seen in American political history. So, Sarah Palin is unelectable? Are you friggin kidding me?

I'm tired of being on a team of wimps, wussies and trembling tigers. Watching Karl Rove, Dick Morris and Erick Erickson do everything they can to drag down Sarah Palin's chances in the minds of feeble minded readers and weak kneed viewers tells me all I need to know about the conservative movement and the Republican Party. We're just too stupid to win.

When have you seen Democrat media pundits talk about Bill Clinton's affairs or Barack Obama's associations? Do you know why the Democrats and the left wing media keep beating us? They suppress their candidates' flaws. They sell their candidate. They stand behind their candidate no matter what. Barack Obama has driven our country and our economy into the ground; yet night after night, pundits, anchors and writers keep talking about how transformative he is and how he can be reelected.

Do any of us do that for Sarah Palin - or Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann or Herman Cain for that matter? No. Our side is full of loud mouthed, hot air blowing tweeters, bloggers, pundits and shallow thinkers who find it easier to find the how not to than it is to work at finding the how to.

Sarah Palin supporters trumpet her potential as president. They talk about her record. They focus on the one thing this nation needs more than anything else: someone that can go in there, clean house and set our policy straight on jobs, energy and the economy. If those on the conservative and Republican side fought as hard for their candidates as they do to put down Sarah Palin, maybe we would have someone else that we could rally around in case she didn't run.

But, at this point, I won't get into the foxhole with backstabbers, mealy mouths and people who call themselves conservatives. If we don't beat Obama in 2012, it won't be because of Sarah Palin. It will be because of them.

Regardless of what you thought about Sharron Angle, Christine O'Donnell or Joe Miller, punishing our candidates for not being perfect by handing victory to their Democrat or RINO challengers is the most idiotic electoral strategy I have ever seen. I for one will not be part of a party or a movement that continues to shoot itself in the foot over and over again.

Why is it that if we put an establishment candidate into a monkey suit and run him, everyone votes for him but when we put up one of us - a regular day American who is sick and tired of how business is being done - some of us start stuttering and spewing green vomit like they're at the screen test for the Linda Blair's part in The Exorcist.

Back your candidate if it's not Sarah Palin. Vote your conscience. But don't be as intellectually dishonest as Democrats are and deny the reality of Sarah Palin's record, her viability, her work ethic and the historical parallels to how people in our movement were doing the same thing to Ronald Reagan in 1979.

Sarah Palin can't win if our side, our movement and our party hasn't learned its lessons from the past. The next time I hear that Sarah Palin is unelectable or that she can't win, I will tell the person they're right, we can't win. Then I will walk away.

There is no arguing with negativity, stupidity or rigidity.

On the Future of Libya

Governor Palin today posted on Facebook:

We join the Libyan people in gratefulness as we hear of Col. Gaddafi’s defeat. The fall of a tyrant and sponsor of terrorism is a great day for freedom-loving people around the world. But the path to democracy in Libya is not complete, and we must make wise choices to ensure that our national interests are protected.

First, the White House needs to avoid triumphalism. Gaddafi may be gone, but the fighting may not be complete. As we’ve seen in Kosovo, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan, we must not celebrate too quickly. There are now mounting concerns that we will see tribal and sectarian fighting in Libya like we saw in Iraq. Let’s hope that is not the case, but it must be prepared for.

Second, we must be very concerned about the future government that will emerge to take Gaddafi’s place. History teaches that those with the guns usually prevail when a coalition overthrows a tyrant. We must remember that military power ultimately resides with the rebel commanders. This should be a source of some concern. The armed opposition to Gaddafi is an outgrowth of a group called Islamic Libya Fighting Group, and some rebel commanders admit that they have Al Qaeda links. The rebel fighters are from different tribes, and they have a variety of political views. Some are Islamists, some appear to favor some sort of western democracy. We should work through diplomatic means to help those who want democracy to come out on top.

That said, we should not commit U.S. troops or military assets to serve as peacekeepers or perform humanitarian missions or nation-building in Libya. Our military is already over-committed and strained, and a vaguely designed mission can be the first step toward a quagmire. The internal situation does not seem stable enough for U.S. forces to operate in a purely humanitarian manner without the possibility of coming under attack. Troop deployment to Libya would mean placing America’s finest in a potentially hostile zone that is not in our vital national security interest.

Finally, we must make sure that terrorist groups don’t try to co-opt the revolution, as Al Qaeda is trying to do in Syria. We should continue to use our intelligence assets to monitor the situation in Libya to ensure that potentially dangerous weapons are secured, and that terrorist organizations such as Al Qaeda don’t gain a foothold in Libya.

People of Libya, be vigilant. May this opportunity be used to build a free and peaceful country.

Rewind: Open Doors

- by Josh Painter
*
The exact quote from Gov. Palin was, "And if there is an open door in '12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I'll plow through that door." She made the comment in an interview with Greta Van Susteren November 10, 2008.

But Scott Conroy paraphrased it well enough in this appearance he made with Shushannah Walshe on The O'Reilly Factor nearly a year later:

The Constitution and a Cornfield

The Constitution and A Cornfield

Rob Cunningham
August 23, 2011

In 1789, the world witnessed the ratification of America’s Constitution, thus
ushering in the birth of a nation envisioned and framed by centuries of human
wisdom, political insights, thousands of failed governmental experiments, and
steeped in principles almost exclusively based on Judeo-Christian teachings.
In the 222 years since our Constitution was ratified, there is no doubt that
our country’s birth has proven to be the most successful experiment in human
history.

No other nation has ever produced a greater amount of positive global change,
international generosity, economic prosperity, scientific advancements, or a
stronger defense of personal liberties and religious freedoms. None has come
close.

It would be impossible to overstate the global human disaster certain to follow
in the aftermath of America’s demise. As we learned in basic science, nature
abhors a vacuum, and vacuums are immediately filled with a surrounding
substance. Given the heightened levels of virulent, anti-American, secular-
progressive and global-government thinking so pervasive in today’s “ruling
class” culture, this destructive world view would most likely be the “surrounding
substance” to fill the space previously occupied by America’s moral
leadership. As surely as night follows day, America’s collapse would usher in
global economic chaos and a worldwide cultural disaster.

America, as a nation, stands at death’s door. Only radical, bold, and morally
courageous leadership can prevent our country’s ultimate demise. We must
concur with the wisdom of French philosopher, Alexis De Toquevuille, when
he observed, “America is great because America is good.” Yes, America may
slip and lose its way from time to time, but never has our core national spirit
required a “fundamental transformation” of the type envisioned by the Obama
Administration.

We must choose bold restoration or suffer a certain, immediate demise. Precious
little time remains to make this fateful decision. Often, when nations or individuals
stumble, they need most what they desire least. Thankfully for America, many
millions of independent voters, Tea Party patriots, common sense conservatives,

and sovereign citizens are fully aware of the measures needed to restore our fallen
country. We stand ready, eager, and willing to do the hard work necessary to elect
true leaders, and to make the many sacrifices required to save our beloved nation
for future generations.

Normally, it is only through the lens of time that one can appreciate events of
true historical importance. It is extremely rare to be alive during a significant
inflection point in human history, especially one that future generations may
reflect upon and study for possibly thousands of years into the future. We may
have an opportunity to witness - and to participate in - one of those pivotal
inflection points.

On Saturday, September 3rd, in Indianola, Iowa, I believe that a significant and
historically fateful event will occur in this small town near Des Moines. Governor
Sarah Palin will likely deliver a speech in which the 2012 election battle lines will
be clearly drawn for every friend and foe to hear.

No other presidential candidate has offered, or is likely to offer, such clear,
specific, and bold measures to the American people as I expect Sarah Palin
will offer on this day. Her speech will likely prove to be refreshing, inspiring,
invigorating and so historic in nature, it may be impossible to calculate its
significance until many years have passed.
The epic struggle for America’s very
survival will be engaged on this day, and our world will never be the same.

With every ounce of passion and personal conviction in my soul, I implore each
and every person that feels called to volunteer in defense of our beloved nation,
to make your reservations for Indianola, Iowa, today. You have been officially
notified of the rare, once in a lifetime, historical significance of this Labor Day
weekend event. Please do not write to me or complain to any Organize4Palin
group with, “Someone should have told me!” or “Why didn’t you really bang the
table harder to convince me to attend?”

If you can’t make the journey to Iowa, please note that CSPAN will be covering
this event from beginning to end, from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm EST. Mark your
calendars, set your DVRs, host a viewing party and tell your friends, family,
neighbors and co-workers. If you happen to live in Iowa, there should be no
reason, no excuse, no football game, party or precious few priorities that trump
the significance of attending this historic event in your own backyard.

If Sarah Palin can't win, then it doesn't matter

If we want to settle for a 'generic Republican' and not fight hard to push someone like Sarah Palin across the finish line, are the Democrats and Obama just going to lay down and die?

We can choose to simply vote Barack Obama out and accept a return to business as usual without the socialism and without the social engineering or we can can completely renew and restore America, bringing it to where prosperity abounds and where prominence on the national stage is recognized again. Sarah Palin is the one leader who can give us the whole package. If we focus on the negatives, we lose. If we settle for business as usual or a so-called "electable candidate," the Democrats will smell that and they will stomp us. At least if we fight, we have a shot.

John Ziegler wrote a piece for American Thinker that takes a cynical view of how Republicans think. While I greatly appreciate Mr. Ziegler's documentary "Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted" and his genuine concern for the cause, I believe he is too concerned with the negatives in how the public may see the flaws in the Republican candidates, particulary Sarah Palin. He would be more effective if he used his writing skills to be an advocate for Sarah Palin and the conservative cause. Instead, he unintentionally plants the objections in his article that will help the Democrats campaign against the GOP and will cause Republicans to think too much about it.

In the upcoming year, we will find out if the Republican Party can have its candidates compete and still go into the convention united. All the candidates bring nuances to the debate that some will accept and others will reject. There is no doubt that there will be differences of opinions and criticism from each of the candidates toward the others. We must remember that this debate needs to be more a fielding of ideas than a reason for the factions in the GOP to divide and hate each other.

At the end of the day - no matter who the Republicans choose as their nominee - if we are not strong from top to bottom (and if we are so fractured that some don't want to participate anymore), we will lose to Obama. But we will lose to Obama not because our candidates are extreme or have flaws. We will lose to Obama because we allowed those flaws to overpower the one truth that exists now and which will exist at the end of the process: we not only need to reject Barack Obama at the ballot box in order to save our country, but we need to also complete the job of eliminating the cronyism and the shutting out of citizens from the political process.

While we are at a do or die moment in our republic's history, this is not just an opportunity to "dodge the Obama bullet" or to eliminate a negative. This is an opportunity which rarely comes around in political processes. This is an opportunity to end the notion that "you can't beat city hall."

Ziegler thinks we rejected the one candidate, Tim Pawlenty, who was the generic Republican we needed to defeat Obama. His logic is that by nominating someone who can't be smeared or who is not hated enough by enough people, we can most easily defeat Barack Obama.

The fact of the matter is the Democrats have nothing to run on. Therefore, no matter who the nominee is, they will smear, attack and be as viciously negative as we have ever seen in our political process. Because the Democrats and the progressive movement have gone so far left, any real shift back to our true values means we will have to run someone who is diametrically opposed to Obama. Why not run Palin?

John Ziegler may not be ready to accept this, but the rhetorical, political and personal carnage that we will need to withstand is unavoidable. We could be losing America as we know it for good. So if we have to go all out to save it, why not take this opportunity to end many of the things which have frustrated citizens about our political process since the very beginning. If the truth is controversial, we will have to take the hits if we are going to win.

Make no mistake about this. Defeating Barack Obama, restoring America and renewing it is not going to be easy. But, it's doable. We cannot allow the polls that show Palin losing to Obama in a general election or what John Ziegler wrote to stop us from electing Sarah Palin president. These polls have been overcome before and similar reasons for not electing someone president have been presented to us by activists and experts in the past. Had Americans listened then, Ronald Reagan would have never been elected president.

Instead of penning a piece that exposes our candidates' weaknesses, Ziegler could have stood up and rejected those weaknesses. There is nothing in the Republican playbook that says we have to accept the weaknesses of any candidate or allow the media to lie to the electorate. If Barack Obama was a Republican, Ziegler would say he couldn't win because the media would destroy him because of his associations and lack of experience.

Instead of worrying about why our candidates can't win, why not look at the Democrats and learn a thing or two. They're not playing the debate and may the best idea win game. They're playing the pound the guy or gal into the ground and win at all costs game. Policy? Forget policy. This is a closed steel cage match here. We're not playing chess. It's time to put a street fighter like Palin in there to beat them at their own game.

Polished suits and pedigrees will not fly this time around. We're going to all have to take some hits and rhetorically get our hands dirty. I'll put our Tea Party warriors up against the Left's thugs any day. Game on. Mr. Ziegler, that's why Palin can win.

Regardless of what the Left and the media may want to say about Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, Mitt Romney, Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry or any of the other candidates, Obama can be defeated by the shear might and force of a unified movement comprised of Republicans, conservatives, libertarians and Tea Party activists. The Democrats get their candidates elected by shear might. Haven't we learned anything by now? We can unite and manifest our victory by each one of us playing our role as part of the battering ram we will need to be in order to break down the gates and take back that Shining City.

Sarah Palin's resignation need not be the concern that Ziegler believes it would be in a general election. We know that the Obama campaign would use it against her; and we know how to counter that attack. The campaign ad could go something like this:
David Axelrod, Pete Rouse and the Democratic machine ginned up a bunch of left wing bloggers in Alaska during the 2008 presidential campaign. After Barack Obama won the presidency, the attacks on Sarah Palin didn't stop. These Democrat operatives knew that this day would come (insert video of Sarah Palin announcing her run for president in 2012 here). In order to prevent this, they went on a concentrated smear campaign against Governor Sarah Palin which resulted in the filing of over 2 dozen frivolous complaints which would later be dismissed but only at great financial expense to the state of Alaska and the Palins personally.

Before you condemn Governor Palin for resigning, ask yourself this question. Would you stay at a job where all your paychecks were being spent to fight false accusations against you and the company you worked for could no longer function because of it? Would you go into debt, bankruptcy and personal financial ruin just to stay in your position because your ego and your pride wouldn't let you do the right thing for your state and your family?

Sarah Palin is no quitter. If she had quit, she would have been gone a few years ago.
If our country is so far gone that we accept that Obama can win reelection with an economy in the tank, gas prices well over $3.00 a gallon, unemployment at 9.1% and housing foreclosures at an all time high, then we've already lost.

Voting for Sarah Palin means we get a 2 for 1 special for the pull of one lever. We get an end to Obama and we get an end to the cronyism and the deaf ears in Washington that have often frustrated the average American who, until now, has never felt his or her voice could be heard. On top of that, we get the one person who knows energy - the key component to reviving our economy.

Read what Sarah Palin wrote on her Facebook Note Conquering the Storm and know she has a plan for our economy.
We need to get this economy moving again, and the real stimulus we’ve been waiting for is domestic energy development. We must reduce our dangerous dependence on foreign oil by responsibly developing natural resources here. This will provide good paying jobs, reduce our trade deficit, increase federal and state revenue, ensure environmental standards, and actually stimulate our economy without incurring any debt. That’s real stimulus!
The Palin army is strong. If you have any doubts, listen to Tammy Bruce's interview with Peter Singletary and know you are not alone.

Will someone ask John Ziegler why the requirements to be the Republican nominee are so strict when the Democrats are capable of nominating a peanut farmer, a philanderer and a closet radical and getting them elected? Are you telling me that a morally upright mother of five with extensive executive business and public service experience can't be elected?

If Palin runs a good campaign and loses to Obama, it's not there is anything wrong with our nominee. It means there's something wrong with our nation. If that's the case, then it doesn't matter what Ziegler says.

Setting The Record Straight: Wrong & Misleading

Three years ago DC pundits predicted with glee the demise of Sarah Palin's political career. This past weekend their tune changed, citing false information that she has made a decision and set a date regarding a future campaign. Any professional pundit claiming to have "inside information" regarding Governor Palin's personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public. These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24 hour news cycle and that all Americans will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the "politics-as-usual" that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career.

PS - Kudos to CNN for setting the record straight, and including Governor Palin's own words

Mark Levin: GOP establishment's real target is Sarah Palin

- by Josh Painter
*
On his Monday radio program, Mark Levin said the real target of the Republican Party's establishment is Sarah Palin:

_

The Great One also opined that Gov. Palin will not announce on Sept. 3. He believes Karl Rove and Dick Morris -- who have both suddenly pivoted and said that she will get in on that date -- are trying to set her up so they can attack her later:

O4P-CA: Could CA Blues Make Reagan Country Red?

We have all been told that California is a blue state, a Democrat stronghold, and its 55 Electoral College votes will inevitably be awarded to President Barack Obama in 2012. Therefore, the conventional wisdom goes that we, as conservatives, should not bother putting up a fight for it. Yet, there are conservatives who recognize that California has all the pieces of the puzzle to be a great and prosperous state, and that it is time for Californians to not only put California back on the track to prosperity but also America. In March 2011, the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) released a survey that documented that there are cracks in the inevitability of California continuing to support President Obama. This was further supported by PPIC’s July polling of likely voters in California. These cracks create opportunities for conservatives to lay the ground work necessary to make California competitive in the 2012 Presidential Election and, possibly, even to make it red again!

In the March 2011 survey PPIC reported Californians’ opinions of their government. The organization found that 52% of those surveyed had an unfavorable opinion of the federal government and 55% had an unfavorable opinion of state government. (Note, the state number is lower than what was reported in the fall of 2010.) PPIC also found that while 52% of likely voters in California approved of President Obama’s job performance, 64% felt that President Obama was not doing enough to help create jobs. When PPIC examined all adults, the number increased to 68%. Furthermore, in March 2011, 63% of Californians felt that the federal deficit was a serious problem facing the country. Since the release of this data, President Obama’s job approval has eroded among likely voters in California. PPIC polled likely voters from July 5, 2011 to July 19, 2011 and found that only 48% of likely voters in California approved of President Obama’s job performance.

These outcomes do not appear to be outliers and they seem to be reflective of what is occurring in other blue states and Democrat strongholds, such as New York and New Jersey. On August 16, 2011, the Siena Research Institute reported that only 36% of New Yorkers approved of President Obama’s job performance as president, which was a decrease of 17 points over a three month period. The very next day, Quinnipac reported that 52% of New Jersey voters disapproved of President Obama’s job performance, which was a dramatic change from the 50% job approval he enjoyed just two months earlier.

Several things could explain the drop in approval ratings: the rising and continued high unemployment in the United States; the recent battle in Washington, D.C. over the raising of the nation’s debt ceiling; the downgrade of the United States’ credit rating by S&P; and the rollercoaster sell-offs that have occurred on Wall Street over the summer seeing hardworking Americans again experiencing dramatic losses in their investments and retirement plans. Additionally, millions of Americans continue to every day feel the impact of the economic and fiscal crisis that has gripped the United States since the fall of 2008, and those who were once supportive of President Obama are now beginning to question his leadership on these important issues, particularly whether he is the right person to lead this country. As such, we are now starting to see that President Obama’s support is bleeding in California, similar to that in New Jersey and New York. This is most likely why the Obama administration announced recently that it would release a new jobs plan in September. The Democrats know without “blue states” like New Jersey, New York and California they cannot hold the White House in 2012, and most likely will be facing monumental losses in down ballot Congressional races.

However, if changing opinions of the populous were all it took to win elections in California, then our work would be relatively easier than the hard slog we know it to be. All elections, particularly those in California, are won by the party or candidate who has the best ground game. We know the Democrat Party, the unions, and the community organizing groups for the Democrat Party have a strong machine in place and know what it takes to get the job done. We also know that most political experts believe that the majority of Californians will vote Democrat. Part of this thinking is based upon the fact that in 2008 the Democrat Party had an approximate 2 million voter registration margin over Republicans. The numbers have not changed considerably since that time. Additionally, it is also based upon the unfortunate fact that rather than gaining registered voters, the California Republican Party has been losing registered voters for years; whether by natural attrition (i.e. more Republicans are dying or moving out of state) or by deliberately leaving the Republican Party. The California Secretary of State reported in February 2011 the percentage of registered Republicans decreased from 35.2% to 30.9% over a seven year period. During this same period of time, Independents (i.e. Declined to States) were the fastest growing “political” group in California, increasing by 5 percentage points from 15.3% to 20.4% of registered voters. Democrats marginally lost voters, decreasing from 44.4% to 44%.

While Democrats are the plurality of registered voters in California, conservativism is on the rise. According to a series of PPIC surveys of political party affiliations released in September 2010, 73% of registered Republicans indicated that they are politically conservative, which was up 8 points from 2006. PPIC also found that from 2006 to 2010 while Independent/Declined to State voters tended to lean towards the Democrat Party, this party affiliation was down 4 points, and those who reported that they were liberal declined by 3 points to 29%. The organization found that 31% of Independent/Declined to State voters identified as being politically conservative, up 5 points since 2006. Additionally, within the Democrat Party 18% of voters identified as being politically conservative. When PPIC examined likely voters in California, it found they were more likely to be conservative (40%), as opposed to being liberal (31%) or middle of the road (29%). Even those adults who are eligible to vote but are not registered were more likely to be conservative (36%) compared to being liberal (33%) or middle of the road (31%).

What we learn from looking at these political affiliations and identifications is that there is a large swath of California voters who are receptive to the conservative message because they identify as being politically conservative. Additionally, the numbers reflecting Californians’ opinions of President Obama’s handling of America’s economic issues show that the majority of likely voters in California may be receptive to voting for someone other than President Obama in the 2012 Presidential election, especially if his administration does not reverse course and our nation’s economic outlook does not vastly improve in the next 12 months.

With this in mind, we must remember that 2012 will be a high-turn out election. As such, it will not be enough for conservative activists to only get Republicans to the polls. This is supported by PPIC which concluded that because neither major party has a majority of registered voters Independents hold an important influence over the outcome of an election. In 2006, the Independents broke for Arnold Schwarzenegger; in 2008, the Independents broke for Barack Obama. In order to make California competitive, conservatives must not only target the Republican Party, which is absolutely critical for get-out-the-vote efforts, but they must also target Independents, particularly those who have pulled Republican ballots in the past. It is imperative that conservatives start now laying the ground work for get-out-the-vote efforts for 2012, which means talking to neighbors, friends, and family members; getting connected with local Tea Party and conservative groups; or volunteering to walk precincts or hold neighborhood tea parties in order to connect with people in the community. During all this hard work, we must remember that California is a beautiful state and it is worth the actions we take now to begin righting it. For an over taxed, over regulated state like our once golden California 2012 cannot come soon enough.

Thank You Iowa!

A week later we are still remembering all the great patriotic Iowans we met at the state fair. We are also still trying to work off that delicious fried butter on a stick and red velvet funnel cake. I look forward to being back in Iowa in Indianola on September 3rd. Enjoy SarahPAC's latest video and thank you Iowa!

Palin Stalkers Finally Arrested

Craig Christy, 47 and Shawn Christy, 19 of McAdoo, Pennsylvania were arrested yesterday on federal charges for continuing to harass the Palins in violation of a restraining order barring them from contact, Reuters reported. That restraining order had been extended for six months this past May. The Christys called the Palins from August 1 through August 9, triggering the charges.
Craig and Shawn Christy made an initial appearance on Thursday in U.S. District Court in Allentown, Pennsylvania, following their arrest, Assistant U.S. Attorney Retta-Rae Randall said.

No bail was set during the hearing and the two men will be transported to Anchorage, Alaska, for further proceedings, Randall said.

The father and son duo had been harassing and threatening the Palins and Kristan Cole, and made threats against Obama and Senator John McCain, according to widespread media reports. The Christys stalking included vulgar calls to Gov. Palin’s home; sending the Palins receipts from a gun purchase and telling them of his intent to purchase a one-way ticket to Alaska. Shawn Christy in fact made a brief round trip to and from Anchorage at a cost of $700 around the time of Gov. Palin’s birthday. Shawn Christy also threatened to rape the former Alaska Governor.

Palin on Greta: Obama Absent from Reality

"Does it matter where he is? Why bother making promises and spewing platitudes? Economies are crashing, markets are crashing...Obama is absent from reality...and burying his head in the proverbial sand and tickling his feet," Governor Palin said tonight about the President's planned 10-day vacation to Martha's Vineyard on Greta Van Susteren's TV show. The former Alaskan Governor was broadcasting from her home studio in Wasilla, Alaska. She said perception is bigger than reality and Obama's vacation shows lack of leadership.

Van Susteren said Americans typically look to our sitting President for leadership and inspiration, even if they don't agree with him politically.

"We need empowerment of individuals, small businesses, and families," Gov. Palin said. Obama's "ideology is one of big centralized government planning the economy and making decisions for us."

Gov. Palin said "investors are taking money out of the market," adding that Obama's promise due 10 days from now will likely involve more spending and borrowing. "Government is not the answer to the problem."

She recounted how conservative governors such as herself vetoed portions of the trillion-dollar stimulus package, because it came with "fat strings attached to big, centralized government. It was not good for the Tenth Amendment and our sovereignties." Gov. Palin predicted that Obama would attempt another stimulus package upon his return from Martha's Vineyard.

She said the Tea Party "is a good model for Congress to follow." Most Tea Partiers have never been involved in government or politics before and many are independents. "We need to make common-sense decisions about the economy so we don't go bankrupt," she said.

Gov. Palin said Sen. Hatch is doing well "in terms of trying to get a balanced budget." She added that the Tea Party needs to "embrace his ideas for a balanced budget," something he has been purusing for decades.

In discussing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton calling for the Syrian president to step down, Van Susteren observed that Clinton looked Presidential - more so than Obama. Gov. Palin said that while she cannot speak for liberal Democrats, she suspects that today they would have voted for Hillary in the Democratic primary rather than Obama.

Gov. Palin said Obama is "leading from behind. What does he desire to do as the leader of the free world? Very strange goings on."

When Obama campaigned on the rhetoric of "fundamental transformation," three years ago, Gov. Palin said people now should understand what he meant. "2012 can't come soon enough!"

Gov. Palin reflected on her gubernatorial inaugural address in which she said, "you can't put faith in an individual. Government cannot make you happy, wealthy, or wise. We have to look within ourselves and create our own jobs. Let's hire people. Be prudent, but be bold. Plan ahead. don't wait for the elite bubble in Washington, D.C.

Regarding the September 3 Tea Party rally to which she was invited, Gov. Palin answered Van Susteren's question about her Presidential candidacy decision. "I'm still contemplating. I'm determined to get this country on the right track. You don't need a title to make a difference and you don't have to hold an office to make a difference. I'm living proof of that," she said.

Restoring America Rally Changes Venue

"The Iowa-based event hosts of the Restoring America Rally with Sarah Palin on September 3rd have decided to move the venue to a nearby location that better accommodates every eventuality. While the Hawkeye Antique Acres was a wonderful location, concerns had arisen with parking, especially in the event of inclement weather.
The new location–the Indianola Balloon Grounds just south of Des Moines–has all of the quintessentially rural charm of the original site, but none of the logistical challenges.
The event will still be held from 11 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Labor Day Weekend, September 3rd, 2011.
An updated flyer announcing the event–with the site change information–has been distributed. We continue to encourage everyone who can to attend this historic event. Note that this new location is close enough to the original site that any travel plans should not be affected.
We’ll be keeping you informed with our new series, Road To Indianola.

Governor Palin, mind if we ask you to help us out with something?

Governor Palin, would you mind if we ask you to help us out with something?

We were once the silent majority. We worked hard. We raised our families and passed along our religious and cultural values to our children. We viewed society as a place that had norms. We overcame our shortcomings. We ended slavery and embraced those from all cultures and ethnic backgrounds who wanted to pursue the American dream.

We always assumed that the "grown ups" would be in charge. Our government kept us safe from nuclear war, invasion from Axis powers during World War II and defended us from Terrorism after 9/11. It promoted the general welfare by allowing the private sector to grow and create jobs. We didn't notice that underneath the surface of the assumed American dream, a worm was burrowing. The worm of progressivism was slowly eating into our culture, our academia and ultimately into our societal norms.

How we lost our way as a nation is both a political and cultural research project. Those who believed in collectivism and the power of the state started out by using our basic instincts against us. If we saw something we didn't like, we passed a law against it. Slowly, our paths in life were being blocked by a growing thicket of thorny legal and regulatory branches.

After nearly a century of the gradual creeping of statism into our lives, we were suddenly confronted with a financial crisis of global proportion, the fact our country was going broke, the realization that our family structure was being destroyed and the growing awareness that our ability to become successful entrepreneurs was being roadblocked by layers and layers of bureacracy and regulation.

We didn't see it coming. We were all busy working our jobs, building our businesses and raising our families. Many of us never caught on until after the 2008 election that even our media - once a trusted instution which brought us important information during World War II, the Korean War and the Cuban missile crisis - was lying to us.

Conservatism used to be about the preservation and creation of jobs. It was about standing up for people so they can keep what they earned or to champion and economic environment that would help people pull themselves out of poverty by working hard and following the rules.

Today's Conservatism has become more about restoration than preservation and creation. Today, those who have earned their wealth, whether it be modest or more than modest, are vilified by our government and our media. Today, those who play by the rules get screwed.

It used to be about ethical and moral values. Now it's about survival and an effort to renew in ourselves and our fellow countrymen those values which have slowly slipped away from us due to the blurring of moral relativism.

So, when you started your political career in the PTA and on the Wasilla city council in the early 1990's, you began building a career that would eventually lead to becoming the vice presidential nominee in 2008. Whether you knew it or not, while we regular folk were building our resumes so that we could have something to submit to prospective employers in our fields after being laid off during the Obama years, you were building a resume in the political field that would empower you to be a candidate qualified to represent hard working believers in the American dream on the national stage.

You are the voice for millions of Americans who once lost hope and faith in the American dream prior to your selection as John McCain's VP. Without you, no one would be adequately positioned or have the necessary drive and charisma developed in time to take on the challenges of this decade.

It will be difficult to convince some to choose you over a field of fine Republican candidates. But, convince we must because despite the great strengths and the normal human weaknesses of the rest of the GOP field, no one has the potential for the level of greatness that you have.

If we had not discovered the head of the progressive snake in the White House and if the Tea Party never brought it to our attention that moderate establishment Republicans were straddling a fence with crony capitalism on one side and crony socialism on the other, we would be facing another election year of business as usual.

Business as usual election years gave America decent candidates like George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. But it was only during life and death elections that we got great ones like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan. During business as usual years, I'd have no problem voting for many of the candidates right now vying for the GOP nomination. But this is life and death for America. The only one who can save us completely is you, Governor Palin. And, we are willing to help you do it.

(Some may want to go off on me at this point. So let me clarify. Like Sarah Palin said, "anybody but Obama." I'm not saying that our descent into a socialist abyss or that the insolvency of our nation is still inevitable if one of the other GOP candidates becomes president. Surely, the end of the Obama years by any form will help our nation avoid this destruction immensely. This blogger is just saying that if you want to make it straight, vote for any of the other candidates; if you want to make it great, vote for Sarah Palin.)

We have a historic opportunity to elect America's first female president and bring back the aura of Reagan to the White House and the national stage. Watching Americans go back to work again as we ramp up energy production, reduce regulations and reform our taxation and entitlement policies is not just a "whew, we finally got rid of him" moment. It will be a time again in history that will give us chills of patriotic pride and bring tears of joy to our eyes. That's what its supposed to feel like to be American.

Governor, you have not indicated yet what your decision is. It is a life changing decision for you and your family. While it is an opportunity for you to become a historic American figure, America will own you for possibly eight years. What can we do to convince a free spirited, snow machine ridin', caribou huntin' wife and mother to give us her servant's heart for the eight years necessary to restore our nation to greatness? We in turn are ready to give you our hearts and stand up for you and support you every step of the way.

You have been paving the way for us. Thank God that just as our socio-economic and political stage was collapsing beneath us that you got here right before the audience was about to leave. Had it not been for your emergence on the national stage and the inspiration that your rallies and Rick Santelli's rantings brought, one wonders if we would have ever had a Tea Party.

Many don't realize how close conservatism was to dying. Had John McCain ran with a different running mate, the loss would have closed a chapter in American political history. It would have been a devastating blow to conservatism. Obama would still have been a poor president. But, it leaves us to wonder what the opposition would have looked like had there been no Sarah Palin and no Tea Party.

We are no longer the silent majority. Because you paved the way to get where you are today, many Tea Party candidates and citizen politicians are inspired to run and to serve. This bodes well for our political future. The media, the Left and the establishment can complain all they want. The infiltration of the Tea Party into the halls of government is the only thing that's going to save this country.

They may see us an obstructionists because we are. We are trying to obstruct the destruction of our nation. If you could single-handedly take on and survive the media smear campaign and the frivolous ethics filings, we can collectively take on the attacks and the false accusations of racism and violence.

There are those who will support other candidates. If they have a horse, I encourage them to back it. Competition is good. I wonder, though, about the trembling tigers who go from flavor of the day to flavor of the day. When the smoke clears, we will need all hands on deck. Taking back the shining city on a hill is not a task for the wishy washy or the faint of heart. There are good people supporting the other candidates. But, I can tell you this, there are no flavor of the day people in the Palin ranks. The army is stout.

It is my hope that conservatives will have the ability to stand behind any of their horses with steel spines and firm resolve if they believe as strongly as your supporters feel about you. But they must know (and we must be kind enough to tell them without alienating them) that if they joined us in the effort to support you, whether now or if you run and wins the nomination, that the Palin army is rock solid, laser-like in its precision and unwavering in its support.

No one in Tea Party movement need fear you or wish against your nomination. Everyone in the conservative movement and in the Tea Party must know that there is a turn key, tailor made candidate who can no longer be destroyed by the media. You are no longer fresh meat the way other candidates are. They have given their all against you and failed. Those who may be considering supporting you must also must know that they will be joining a political army like no other.

This writer sometimes gets a little antsy. Like a soldier sitting next to a camp fire cleaning his weapon and keeping his powder dry, the trigger finger gets more itchy with each passing day. I hear the muttering in the camp. I hear, and I sometimes succumb to myself, the frustrated tones and the desperate anguish of "when the hell is she going to run" or "c'mon Sarah will you run already."

There are those that tell us to stay calm. I know they're right. You have a plan they tell us. I also know that it's a big decision and that I am asking you, your husband and your children to make a major life changing call just so I and millions like me can have opportunity and hope again. Sometimes I feel selfish, but I also know that if you make that decision to run, I will fight to the political death for you. I also know that if you make that decision, I will be eternally grateful.

There is probably nothing I can do singularly to help you that could ever equal the amount of work and personal sacrafice you will have to make on my behalf. Sure, I can send a few bucks to SarahPac, blog my ass for you and get together with Palin supporters in my community as well as nationwide. But nothing I can do could ever equal what you can do for this country if you run.

But if you run, I can guarantee her that I will find every member of the Palin army and be in communication with them. I will work to convince everyone I find who isn't sure about you yet. I will do what I did when you ran for vice president - I will go down to the campaign office even if I have to do it on lunch and make phone calls. I did it in 2008, not for John McCain, but for you. When I pushed that button on the screen in 2008, I voted for you.

There are a lot of us out there that support you. We need your help.

So, whadda ya say?

O4P-CA: Sarah Palin's Presidential Toes & Why They Matter

Today Ariana Huff N Puff's news site wrote an entire story about Sarah Palin's feet. Seriously, not kidding. Isn't it interesting that Sarah Palin's (fabulous) toe nail polish is getting more coverage than all the other GOP Presidential hopefuls combined.

I know...I know...I know...This is NOT Presidential...Well, actually it is. Let me tell you why. Remember when Osama bin Laden was caught? For weeks all we heard in the news cycle was: "Obama got Osama!" We were lectured endlessly by the LSM about how gutsy Obama was and how this proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Barack Obama is an effective and patriotic leader (even though he is on record as being against ((to the point of threatening the CIA )) every single tactic used to complete the mission).

Imagine being in the middle of the 2012 Presidential race and the Obama supporting media hijacks entire new's cycle's to give Obama credit for something he had nothing to do with. You know they will (over and over again) Can Romney, Perry, Bachmann, Santorum, Paul, Christie, Huntsman, or Gingrich snatch that news cycle right back and force the narrative back to the 2012 debate of our lifetime?

Sarah Palin can.

Only Sarah Palin has the media power to not allow the LSM to pick the president again.

In 2012 the LSM, Hollywood, the left, and the GOP Establishment will go into full assault to re-elect Barack Obama. Any candidate other than Sarah Palin will not get the message of a smaller, smarter government to the electorate. Their message will be drowned out by endless Obama praise, and a sugar coated re-vision of the last three years.

There is a reason Sarah Palin is so viciously attacked by those who prefer Big Government and Establishment rule. She is the only person besides Barack Obama with the media pull to sway an election.

Watchout LSM, those presidential toes are going inside some boots on the ground to get America back on track.

Palin or Bust!

Todd Palin Asks Unreasonable "Sellout" Woman a Reasonable Question

By Adrienne Ross - www.motivationtruth.com

Todd Palin was confronted by someone wielding insults at the Iowa State Fair. Her accusation? Governor Palin is a sellout because she resigned from the governor's office. Todd handles the situation by asking the woman what she would have done if she were the one getting hammered with ethics complaint after ethics complaint and was being buried in debt as a result. The woman, of course, had no answer. All she could do was resort to name calling, which is exactly what people do when they cannot deal with the issues. Had she really thought there was a reasonable alternative when dealing with the thousands of dollars the Palins were required to pay to defend themselves, she would have put forth that alternative. The truth is she had none.

Once again, let's set the record straight. Even though Governor Palin was cleared of any wrongdoing in every single one of those bogus complaints, the Palins were required to pay to defend themselves, and there was no end in sight. Those bent on bankrupting this family and costing the state of Alaska time and monetary resources--thereby stifling progress--would have never discontinued their efforts. It was a calculated plan to take her down, and she wisely did what she had to do for the benefit of her family and her state.

Stacy Drake takes on this issue in her article, "Governor Palin Never "Sold Out" to Anyone":
The San Francisco Chronicle shot some footage at the Iowa State Fair last Friday that has been making the online rounds this week. The video shows a woman who claims to be from Alaska, heckling Todd Palin by calling Governor Palin a “sellout” for resigning from office.

This line of attack is common with the governor’s foes for many reasons. For one, it’s much easier to spin the fact that she stepped down from her post than it is to explain the complicated circumstances that led up to her decision. It certainly takes less time. Second, Governor Palin’s political enemies don’t have anything else. The governor has been fully vetted in public view over the past three years, and there isn’t anything else for them to latch onto. The left-wing press even sued to have all of her emails released to them, only to come out with nothing but message after message of a good public servant doing her job, and doing it well.

I wrote a piece back in December of 2010 called “Why Governor Palin Resigned.” I gave an overview of the section in Going Rogue where the governor wrote about her decision to step down. In the book, the governor writes about the avalanche of politically motivated frivolous lawsuits that were taking their toll of the state. They were bogging down her administration, costing Alaska time and resources in a fight that appeared to have no end unless she did something drastic. As you can tell by Todd’s reaction in the clip, the lawsuits were also taking a financial toll on the Palin family. Her decision to pass the ball to her Lt. Governor weighed heavily on her for sure. But there is no doubt that it boiled down to doing the right thing for the State of Alaska, and the right thing for her family.

Read more here.

Todd Palin presented a reasonable question when he asked the woman what she would have done. Left with nothing, she--like a junior high schooler--turned, walked away, and called back, "Sellout." It seems to me she should have hung around long enough to engage in an adult conversation about how the Palins could have better handled the politics of personal destruction being waged on Governor Palin. Todd gave this woman a great opportunity to articulate her superior knowledge, but instead, she diverted the conversation. Quite telling, isn't it?

Palin Tells Tapper Heifer Comes First

A Humbling Reminder of Our Duty

Governor Palin today posted on Facebook:

We spent a very moving day in Kansas City, Missouri, where it’s easy to remember what really matters, because here we have the National World War I Museum and Liberty Memorial.

The Liberty Memorial Tower is dedicated “In honor of those who served in the World War in defense of liberty and our country.” Reading the many memorial inscriptions while standing in the rain was a somber and humbling reminder of the sacrifices young Americans made nearly a century ago in distant battlefields so far from home. So many of them never returned from those fields in France and Belgium. Yes, it was a somber, real, significant moment reading those words about the honor in one’s dedication to God and country.

The main inscription on the memorial reads: “These have dared bear the torches of sacrifice and service. Their bodies return to dust but their work liveth evermore. Let us strive on to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.”

I took the above photo of Piper and my niece McKinley with the memorial in the background. It brought home to me what this “One Nation Tour” is about. It’s about the duty we have not just to the living, but also to the dead and to the generations yet to be born. Our founders called us the “heirs of freedom,” and as such we have a duty to those who have already paid the price for us to live in freedom, and we have a duty to those who will come after us.

Our freedom was purchased by millions of men now long-forgotten throughout our history who charged the cannons, ran into bayonets, suffered in the trenches, and gave their lives so that we could live in relative comfort doing what we feel led to do. We can’t squander what they gave us or what the next generation expects from us. This is why visiting these historic sites and bringing your children to see them is so important. This is why I wanted to bring my own children with me to show them our history and remind them that America’s children will carry the torch of freedom one day.

Now it’s back to Alaska for the start of the school year. (And, of course, our annual visit to our own state fair where Piper looks forward to clogging on the Blue Bonnet Stage!) While kids crack open their school books, I look forward to continuing my own writing and research on strategies and plans to help move our country forward.

We will be back on the road soon, for on September 3rd we’ve been invited to a big Tea Party “Restoring America” rally in Waukee, Iowa. We hope to see many of you there as we gather to discuss the direction of our country and the way forward with our fundamental restoration of all that is good and strong and free in America. You can click here for more information on the event.

Thank you all for your support and for sharing this leg through the Heartland of the “One Nation Tour” with us.

With an Alaskan heart,

Land of Lincoln

We had a wonderful morning touring the Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Illinois. About a year ago, I was honored to give a speech before the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. for the Restoring Honor Rally. Standing in the shadow of that massive monument to the Great Emancipator might make one forget that this heroic leader came from very humble beginnings in what was considered at the time a very remote part of the country. In fact, the east coast establishment long dismissed Lincoln as just a frontier political figure, and he never really won over that establishment. But it was as a "prairie lawyer" in Springfield that Lincoln honed the oratory and debate skills he used to persuade and inspire his fellow Americans in freeing the slaves and preserving our Union. These heartland roots are what made him who he was.

It was truly inspiring to learn more about this great man from those who tend to his legacy with such devotion. We learned a wealth of information about the Civil War, the Emancipation Proclamation, and Lincoln’s life. Many thanks to the professional staff, volunteers, and historians at the Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum for all they do to preserve this important aspect of American history and educate future generations.

Good Sunday Morning!

Good morning from Springfield, Illinois!

We had another great day yesterday traveling through the Midwest. We stopped to walk in the footsteps of Ronald Wilson Reagan at his alma mater Eureka College, enjoyed fried chicken at a local restaurant that “Dutch” frequented, and crossed on a few dirt roads following field after field of corn and soybeans.

Our country is an extraordinarily beautiful place. But the people here are everything. As Reagan said, “The most valuable lesson I learned at Eureka is that every individual makes a difference.” Individuals can make a difference. We have to.

The gritty, humble strength of America’s heartland is on display in the places we’ve visited the last few days, where individuals work together to pull resource and bounty from our land. We’ve met so many great people who are committed to their community and united by strong values and love of country.

Thank you Eureka, Dixon, and all the places we stopped at yesterday. This trip continues to inspire at every turn.

P.S. Congratulations to all those who participated in Ames yesterday.

O4P-CA: Keep Your Powder Dry; Palin or Bust!

(from: The Phrase Finder)

Meaning

Be prepared and save your resources until they are needed.

Origin

The allusion is to gunpowder which soldiers had to keep dry in order to be ready to fight when required. This advice reputedly originated with Oliver Cromwell during his campaign in Ireland. In Ballads of Ireland, 1856, Edward Hayes wrote:

"There is a well-authenticated anecdote of Cromwell. On a certain occasion, when his troops were about crossing a river to attack the enemy, he concluded an address, couched in the usual fanatic terms in use among them, with these words - 'put your trust in God; but mind to keep your powder dry'."

There is a lot of talk right now (mainly in the LSM) of: Iowa, jumping in, announcements, polls (straw or otherwise), time-lines, blah blah blah...

The truth is that the majority of the electorate is not engaged in the presidential election of 2012. The real race begins well after Labor Day.

It's going to be a long battle folks. We're going to need all hands on deck, and your full attention. This is no time to be impatient.

The LSM is counting on you to be easily sidetracked, discouraged, distracted, and demoralized.

The right candidate will emerge at the right time. It may take a little bit longer for everyone to get on the bandwagon and understand that she's been here all along.

Here's the silver lining.

Let's take advantage of this down-time. Get all your ducks in a row.

Now would be a great time to:

- Upgrade to that Smartphone you've had your eye on. (This will help keep you in touch with boots on the ground activities, fellow volunteers, and your California State Coordinator)

- Find out when & where your local GOP meetings are held and start attending them. Don't allow the GOP establishment to shove a mushy, wishy-washy candidate down your throat. They are counting on your passivity to do this to you again. Remember our moto: It's Palin or Bust. Don't settle, compromise, or go along to get along with any other scenario. (Do you need to start looking for a baby-sitter for those nights?)

- Use this handy Tea Party Finder to find and join all the local Tea Party Groups in your community.

- Learn how to use Twitter & Facebook. (If I hear, "I don't do Twitter" one more time I may have to write up a special post on how conservative's reluctance to Social Media could cost us another election)

- Double check and make sure you are registered with Organize4Palin (O4P)

(This is perhaps the single most important thing you will ever do)

- Introduce yourself to me (Thomas S Schmitz); your O4P California State Coordinator: california@organize4palin.com (Let me know what your special skills are that you can donate to the restoration of America)

- Join the O4P-CA Facebook Group to receive updates.

- Click LIKE on the O4P-CA Facebook Page to receive updates.

- Follow the O4P-CA Twitter Page to receive updates.

- Check in with Conservatives4Palin (C4P) several times a day for up to the minute, factual coverage of Sarah Palin.

- Familiarize yourself with PalinTV. This is a comprehensive collection of Sarah Palin speeches and interviews.

- Order a couple O4P T-Shirts and start wearing them. O4P-CA San Francisco has created an amazing website: essexandorange1773 that houses the official O4P Shop. This is also where the famous FREE DOWNLOAD'S are available. The already iconic GAME ON image is available not only as a T-Shirt but also as a free download to send to your favorite Mom & Pop print shop for posters, cards, stickers, etc (Susan will help you with re-sizing and resolution if you have any trouble, just ask)

- Check out the O4P-CA Flickr Page (no that's not a typo it's really spelled like that). Ron Smith (one of O4P-CA's volunteers) has a saying that I couldn't agree with more. Ron says, "If it's not on the internet it didn't happen". When you are passing out O4P Resources (see below) and wearing your O4P T-Shirts (see above) take a picture of your volunteerism and send it to: california@organize4palin.com

- Get your O4P Resources and start passing them out. Now. Keep them with you at all times. If you make it a habit of wearing an O4P, GAME ON, FIGHT LIKE A GIRL, or Sarah Palin 2012 T-Shirt or button this opens the door to dialogue and you can talk with people and give them a red O4P palm card for more information. ONE VOTE AT A TIME! (FYI: People love the groovy QR Code on the back of the card, be sure to tell people about the QR code - it will scan directly into their Smartphone.

O4P Resources are available from GOP Victory Print. Just click the O4P Logo on the front page and you will be directed to the GOP Victory Print O4P Shop. We have a special deal with them. The O4P resources are very cheap, but they are not free. We understand that money is tight right now for most Americans. If cost is a challenge please let us know, we'll talk and sort it out: california@organize4palin.com

- Familiarize yourself with Sarah Palin's position on the issues. A good place to start is the open letter to Congressional Freshman she posted on her Facebook page.

The main O4P Website also has an Issues section.

Be ready to talk to people about Sarah Palin's world view and her position on the issues. Poll by Poll, issue by issue, Sarah Palin's position is exactly the same as most Americans.

I look forward to working with each and every one of you as we stand together in solidarity. Our fellowship of patriotic David's must stand strong as we prepare for the coming battle with Goliath.

This journey, this path, that we are about to embark on will be long, difficult, and at times over-whelming.

We are loyal Americans who want our government to spend less money.

Please join our cause.

Please get 5 people to join O4P this week.

From Madison to Egypt's Tahrir square; the simple truth is right before our very eyes: Whoever has the strongest ground team wins.

America is worth fighting for.

2012 can't come soon enough.
